We are very excited to bring you our events schedule for the Derby weekend! This year we have upsized our entertainment, activities and contests. Friday May 3rd at 4 pm, the weigh station ticket sales open. This is the time where any angler that hasn?t yet purchased a ticket, can do so at any weigh station location. The Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons is working in partnership with Transport Canada?s office of boating safety in order to raise awareness of boating safety issues and to encourage all pleasure craft operators to follow safe boating practices. All courtesy checks are FREE of charge and are conducted by a qualified boating safety specialist. At the invitation of a boat owner, the specialist reviews the safety equipment required by law. Boats that meet regulations are issued a CPS RVC decal for that year. The reviews are confidential and there are no penalties for deficiencies.
Various youth activities and concessions will be provided by Extreme Rush Adventures and EverStart Batteries. We have a rock climbing wall coming in, popcorn stands, a casting pond, 50 foot fish tank (provided by the Canadian Outdoor Sports Show) many other exciting activities for children of all ages!
With all these great events and more, there is no reason that anyone would not enjoy a weekend here with us! Come on down May 3rd-5th for the fun and memories that will last a lifetime!
